The MAP winery is located in the village of Lenugi in the Armavir region. The factory was formed on the basis of the Oktemberyan Wine and Cognac Factory, founded in 1942.
In 1995, the plant was privatized and completely re-equipped. Thanks to the latest technologies and highly qualified specialists, since 2016, 14 miln are produced here per year. liters of high-quality cognacs, wines and fruit wines.
The factory produces red and white wines, mainly under the brand Arame, which was the king of Urartu. Red, white semi-sweet wine and muscat are produced under the Arame brand, from Areni and Saperavi varieties. The plant also produces red dry Tigran and red semi-sweet Hasmik. Pomegranate, strawberry, cherry, quince, plum, dogwood, raspberry and blackberry wines are produced from semi-sweet fruit wines. This winery is a testament to the rich history of wine production in Armenia in Soviet times and in modern history. And here it is important not only the technical equipment and huge (about 14 million liters) production volumes of this enterprise, but also the tourist complex, which uses interesting artifacts – "cuts" of barrels with cognac, objects of Soviet everyday life and Armenian culture. One of the features of the exhibition is that German prisoners of war took part in the construction of the plant in 1942-44 and now the room where the prisoners of war rested has been restored.
